Disc Golf Fundraiser:
Our second annual Disc Golf Tournament at Covenant Church was a success! With your help, we again fulfilled our mission: to come together as a community and support the many organizations that encourage recovery. Let's celebrate good times and keep supporting recovery together!

Wonderful Campaign
My son and I went to breakfast one morning in the last week we had together. As we were leaving the restaurant he noticed a girl sitting in her car smoking a cigarette. Mingo asked me to wait a minute, that there was something he needed to do. He walked over to her and told her that he was not hitting on her but that he felt like she needed to hear how beautiful she was, inside and out. She smiled and he walked away.
It is these random acts of kindness that were a beloved trait of Mingo's. He had a way of knowing when people needed kindness in their life.
Do something kind this week and make someone's day, in honor of Mingo and the one year anniversary of his death, on October 18th.

You "SuRE" Have a Friend
Mingo had a passion for helping others, in the photo gallery to the right, he is pictured in his Senior year of high school handing out muffins to the homeless.
During the chilly months this holiday season, SuRE will be handing out Blessing Bags to our local homeless and to Oxford House Residents. Monday, December 10th Mingo's sisters and their friends shared snacks and hot chocolate while packing over 50 bags.

April 18th, 2018 marks six months since I lost my son, Mingo to an accidental drug overdose. This is a collection of our favorite photos of him that we played at his memorial. SuRE strives to humanize the faces of addiction. These are our sons, brothers, family...they are people in recovery working toward a positive life. At SuRE, our mission is to support these recovery efforts in Greenville, North Carolina.
