Support

Recovery!

SuRE is a group of parents, families and friends who have been touched in some way by addiction. My son, Mingo passed away in October 2017. His story reads like too many others, a bright loving soul tormented by addiction. As we mourn his absence, we look for a way to bring meaning to his life. SuRe aims to take what we have suffered and use it to help ease the suffering of others. It is our mission to bring people together, celebrate life and help support the many organizations that offer resources to those who suffer from substance use disorders.

The Third Annual Disc

Golf Fiesta is Back On:

IMG_4274.JPG

A big thank you to our friends at Greenville Disc Golf for hosting a

Mini Disc Golf Fiesta!

Below is the information on this fiesta

as it is laid out on the

official Facebook event:

The 3rd Annual SURE Disc Golf Fiesta unfortunately had to be canceled earlier this year. This event usually raises thousands of dollars to support recovery efforts in our community. GVDG usually helps run the disc golf side of the event with scoring, divisions and clinics while the group handles the food trucks, raffles and other events.

With unusual circumstances we are currently facing, leading to higher numbers of substance abuse cases being reported, We, GVDG are teaming up with PIAS and Jeff Oatis to create a unique one off event.

PIAS will bring out the beloved temp course for this one day event. Below is how it will work:

All division winners will receive prize from PIAS.

Divisions available to play in (4):
Advanced
Amature
Women
I have a Frisbee

Tee times start at 12:30 and run every ten minutes.

Cost: $10 cash or paypal.

100% goes directly to SURE!
Additional rounds cost $5. Best Score will be kept on the leader board.

The Annual SuRE Disc Golf Fiesta is in memory of Mingo, our son, brother and friend. In the past two years we have raised over $10,000 that has been donated to local organizations that help support those in recovery in our community. Some of our recipients include PCCSU, ekiM for Change, Oxford House, Brother’s Keeper, Community Crossroads and others.
